Co-curricular Activities
Education outside the classroom and co-curricular activities:
- assist in the physical, social, cultural and human development of students
- encourage the constructive use of leisure time
- develop team spirit and cooperation
- lead to service.
Students are therefore encouraged to get involved and participate in some form of activity outside the normal class curriculum.
Taita College offers a wide range of activities, clubs, sports, cultural and music groups.
Encourage your child to join and be involved in:

- Civil Defence, Duke of Edinburgh Awards
- Australian Mathematics Competitions, Science Fair
- Choir, Jazz Band, Rock Groups, Itinerant Music Scheme
- Kapahaka, Nga Manu Korero Speech Contests, Japanese Oral Competitions
- Model United Nations General Assembly, Commonwealth Students Conference
- Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Dragon Boating, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Small-bore Shooting, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Touch, Volleyball, Water polo.
Students may also be given the opportunity to go on a variety of recreational, sporting or educational field trips.
The more students put into school the more they get from it. The more they get involved the more the will enjoy college, the more they will learn, the better organised they will get and the better their attitude and achievement will be.
