Taita College is nestled amongst the hills at the northern end of the Lower Hutt Valley, close to the railway line with a bus stop just outside the college.

Feeder schools for the college are Avalon and Naenae intermediates as well as schools that have years 1 to 8 classes such as Tui Glen School.

Students mainly come from the northern Hutt City suburbs of Taita, Pomare, Avalon and Stokes Valley with a few coming from even further afield.
